Octans is a beautiful open-front cardigan with garter stitch trims and a band of two-color garter mosaic at the dropped waist. The body of this sweater is knit flat in one piece from the bottom up to the underarms, with the mosaic colorwork band providing a beautiful transition between colors. Back and fronts are completed separately from the underarms up and joined at the shoulder with a three-needle bind-off. Sleeves are knit flat separately and seamed and set in during finishing. This is worked in Valley Yarns Sunderland, an incredibly soft and cuddly baby alpaca yarn with great drape and a fuzzy halo that is perfect for warm layering pieces. Mosaic pattern is charted only.
