“October” is an afghan knitted in sections, or “modules”. You start by making a single small triangle in stockinette and then add more triangles until you have a hexagon and then a large triangle. Add a garter stitch border. Make six large triangles, sew them together and you have a large hexagon shaped throw. This method of modular knitting is like playing with building blocks. Pieces are added on to each other as they are knit. This greatly reduces the amount of assembly required.
