The symbol in a shape of a curving teardrop or a kidney, known in English as paisley, has been a popular motif in fashion for centuries. From ancient Babylon, through Celtic, Persian and Indian origins with its hidden messages and mysterious symbolism, the iconic motif has had quite a journey.

The Ode Shawl pattern brings this popular motif to modern days handknitting, still giving you vintage vibes. The shawl is worked in mosaic knitting technique, combining stockinette and garter stitch for a textured look.

This pattern is a sister pattern to the Odes shawl, which was made by combining a fingering weight and mohair yarns held double or can be made in DK weight yarn. Two contrasting colours were used for the Odes shawl, and the wavy border was omitted.

El símbolo en la forma de una lagrima curvada o de un riñón, conocido en inglés como paisley, ha sido un motivo popular en moda por siglos. Con origen en la antigua Babilonia, pasando por los Celtas, Persia y la India. Con sus mensajes secretos y misteriosos simbolismos, este motivo icónico ha tenido un muy viaje interesante.

El patrón del Chal Ode trae este popular motivo a los tejidos de hoy en día, otorgándoles una vibra vintage. El chal está tejido con la técnica de tejido en mosaico, combinando punto jersey y punto santa clara (o punto bobo) para darle textura.

Este patrón es un patrón hermano del chal Odes, que fue hecho combinando lana de grosor fingering con mohair o usando lana de grosor DK. Dos colores contrastantes fueron usados para el chal Odes, y el borde ondulado fue omitido.
