Of the Sea
Inspired by the gentle soothing curves of a lulling tide, Of the Sea is a crescent shaped shawl that drapes perfectly over your shoulders or around your neck. Knit in the sumptuous primo fingering from The Plucky Knitter, this shawl is an everyday luxury that easily glams up a pair of flip flops and jeans.
Pattern has been updated with line-by-line instructions for those who have trouble reading charts.
Difficulty: Intermediate
Yarn: The Plucky Knitter Primo Fingering (75% merino wool, 20% cashmere, 5% nylon; 385 yds/101 grams) 2 skeins, shown in Hope is a Good Thing
Gauge: 24 stitches and 28 rows = 4” in stockinette stitch before blocking.
Finished size: 61” wide & 20” tall
Needles: 29” US 6 (4.0mm) circular needle.
Notions: 1-3 stitch markers, and a yarn needle.
Stitches Used: knit, purl, knit into the front and back (kfb), knit 2 together (k2tog), slip slip knit (ssk), knit through the back loop (ktbl), purl into the front and back (pfb), purl 2 together (p2tog), right twist (rt), left twist (lt). All stitches are explained within the pattern.
