This cozy hat features a casual cable panel framed by cable edging and stockinette. The hat is sized to fully cover the ears for warmth on chilly days. The hat is finished with an optional removable fur or faux fur pompom.

This pattern is suitable for most aran or heavy worsted weight yarns that can be worked at a gauge of 16 stitches/22 rounds to 4 inches.

This hat is particularly attractive in handspun or slightly variegated or tweedy yarns. The sample was worked in handspun yarn from an artisan local to the designer.
