My main inspiration for this pattern stemmed from the need to keep snowflakes off the lenses of my newly prescribed eyeglasses. So thanks to needing glasses, I understood the practicality of a brimmed hat and designed this lid. The sweeping main cable reminded me of a sweet line of figure 8’s on a grand day of power skiing. Hence the name Off Piste.

16 inch circular and double pointed US 9 needles & US 8 needles for brim / 40 cm circular and double pointed 5.5 mm needles & 5.0 mm needles for brim
