I think that it is extremely important to keep a little whimsy around on those long cold winter days. It’s okay to sometimes want to be like a deer, and antlers are pretty much the coolest accessory ever. These mittens are inspired by traditional Latvian techniques, including braids and a motif found in Lizbeth Upitis’ book “Latvian Mittens”. Just like a deer, the antler motif blends into the background, yet stands out when noticed.
