This shawl, like the waves, flows with effortless grace. Its vibrant blue-green color evokes a sense of tranquility, and its soft fabric feels like a gentle caress. It’s the perfect accessory for a relaxing day by the beach or a quiet evening spent watching the sunset.

Oh Hey Vacay is built on a garter base, gentle little waves of Feather and Fan stitch separate larger calming sections of drop stitch Seafoam Wave. This creates an excellent place to use a crazy fun variegated skein that you picked up along the way.

So take a deep breath, feel the sand between your toes, and let the waves and this shawl transport you to a place of serenity.

Yarn: Fingering weight, 3 complimentary colors. Start with a fun variegated yarn and then pull out two semi-solid colors that are in the variegated yarn.

Featured Yarn: Emma’s Yarn Super Silky (80% Superwash Merino/20% silk, 400yards/100grams)

Color One (C1): Zuni 300 yards (teal)
Color Two (C2): Wink – 130 Yards (purple)
Color Three (C3): Overboard – 400 Yards (blue variegated)

Needles: 4/3.5mm 24”/60cm or 32”/80cm circular needles

Notions: Stitch Marker (optional), T-pins and blocking wires for blocking

Gauge: 22 sts = 4 inches in garter after blocking. Although gauge is not crucial for this project, it will affect the finished size and yarn requirements. A looser gauge will result in the use of more yarn.

Finished Size: Boomerang Shape - 74“ neckline x 54” at bind off edge after blocking
