Óðinn / Odin 2.0
This is the 2.0 version of the Óðinn pattern. It contains both the original bottom up version and the (more fun) top down version.
Óðinn is originally one of the patterns on the instructional DVD Knit your own Lopapeysa.
Óðinn is a strong and warm Lopapeysa knit with the bulky but surprisingly light Álafoss lopi. The pattern is classic and so are the colors. Although, if you feel like changing the colors to shocking pink and turquoise, just do it!
The construction and methods used to knit the original version of Óðinn are traditional for Icelandic Lopapeysa knitting. This makes a good project for those wanting to get familiar with Lopapeysa knitting. The only non-traditional aspect of the design is the tubular cast off at the neckline. That method, along with the rest, is covered on the DVD.
The top down version is really cool because it’s so easy to adjust the lenght of the body and sleeves… and for many knitters knitting from the top feels so much faster!
