Old Shale Wrap
The yarn came first with this design. I saw a photo of a light-worsted yarn produced by Hampton Fiber Mill & Spinnery in an incredible red (something like a mature raspberry) and decided to get my hands on the yarn and then figure out what I’d do with it.
The design is fairly simple: it’s a rectangular-shaped wrap worked from the top down. A seed stitch border frames sections of a Shetland old shale stitch pattern. It features a scalloped bottom edge.
The accessory required three 225-yard skeins of this light-worsted weight yarn. I’m not sure what colors he has available at this time, but it’s worth checking out!
