The olive tree is a familiar sight throughout the Mediterranean,
easily recognized from afar by its soft gray-green leaves and
low, rounded form. Its blossoms are so small and subtle that it
took me years to notice when the tree was actually in
bloom. Fresh olives, when first picked, are intensely bitter and
inedible, yet Italians have found countless ways to transform them into something delicious and essential.

Olivo socks are knit cuff down. The olive flower lace
panel that decorates the leg, the bottom of the heel and the toes are worked using a contrasting color.

2.25 mm (US 1) – 100 cm / 40” circular needles, or as required to obtain gauge.

Yarn requirements
Quince & co Starling (75 % superwash Merino, 25 % recycled polyamide, 200 m / 50 g).
MC: 1 (1, 2) 2 skeins or 140 (190, 225) 280 m / 155 (205, 245) 305 yds of fingering weight yarn.

Gauge
33 sts x 48 rnds = 10 cm /4” with 2.25 mm (US 1) needles in stockinette st in the round after blocking.
