Olsen Slippers
If you follow my work, you’ll know that I love making these slippers. I’ve designed 21 patterns. This pattern was inspired by my Great Grandfather’s journey to America. He traveled with his parents and younger siblings. The sizes represent that little family. The star represents Norway, and the North Star. The compass at the toe represents their voyage and the sole is a sea of stars that they would have seen crossing the Atlantic.
My Olsen slippers are in the Fourth Chapter of the Nordic Knitting Primer.
I love this design! Hope you do too!
