This is a super-sized version of my Fraser Fingerless Mittens pattern!

What’s different?

This pattern has an adjusted stitch count for a lighter weight wool yarn and more fitted mitten. Because of this, I now also include instructions to make the mittens in 2 sizes - S/M and M/L.

I have also changed the thumb method to a gusset thumb instead of the inset thumb in my original pattern.

Also included are the instructions for Ombre dyeing the finished mittens!
I give you a list of materials needed, and step-by-step instructions (incl some photos) for the Ombre dyeing process using RIT dye.

Finished mittens measure about 17.5” long, width varies by size.

Knit in the round, these can easily be made without the elbow slit if you prefer.
Knitting progression is given in inches instead of rows in the pattern, so you can also make adjustments more easily for yarn that is a little lighter or heavier than the suggested yarn.

I think this pattern would be suitable for most ability levels, including adventurous beginning knitters with a few projects under their belts, even if you don’t know how to knit in the round. There are lots and lots of tutorials on youtube for those who want to learn!
