On Target
As an avid reader, I can never have too many bookmarks, and I am sure lots of you are the same. It wasn’t a far reach from the arrow shaping for shawls to knitting an actual arrow using it – and since an arrow shaped shawl or scarf might be awkward to wear, I decided to make a bookmark instead.
Because I am a huge fan of Hawkeye, I just had to use purple yarn for mine – it’s my favourite colour and now the bookmark will always remind me of the Avenger with no actual superpowers, who fights with a rather low tech weapon.
But whatever your reason to make this bookmark, it will be a quick project that can be done in an hour or two by an experienced knitter. It is simple garter stitch with yarn overs and a double decrease in the centre – making it suitable for adventurous beginning knitters as well.

2.5 mm/US 1.5 knitting needles
fingering weight yarn, about 15 m/16.5 yds

Gauge is not crucial here, but it might affect the size of your finished bookmark and how much yarn you need.
