On the Move Mittens
If you have a toddler in your life who’s into trains, planes, rockets, or boats, knit up these cute mittens that he or she will actually want to wear and keep on. Make two mittens the same, or use a different motif for the right and the left mitten. Better yet, make all four so you have spares (what toddler couldn’t use a few spare mittens?).
This is a great pattern to use up fingering-weight scraps! You will need approximately 40-50yds/37-45m of each color.
SIZES
One size, to fit average toddler (around 1-3 years). Circumference: 5.5” or 14 cm, length from cuff to top: 6” or 15 cm.
MATERIALS NEEDED
Yarn:
O-Wool O-Wash Fingering (100% merino; 428yds/391m per 100g skein): 1 skein in Schist for Color A, 1 skein in Fowler’s Toad for Color B for green/gray mittens; 1 skein in Sunfish for Color A, 1 skein in Devil’s Pool for Color B for blue/teal mittens.
Note: This yarn is also available in 100yd/25g mini skeins. Two mini skeins will make a pair of mittens.
