DK + Mohair!
These socks are designed for speed, so you can knit them up quickly and enjoy their cozy embrace sooner. Slip them on and experience instant comfort, providing a snug haven for your tired toes.
A perfect plan: warmth without the wait.

Knitted from the toe up, using a short-row heel, carrying one strand of DK weight yarn together with 2 strands of mohair for extra warmth and comfort.

SIZES
Medium (Large). To fit a foot circumference of approx. 8½ (9¾)” 21.5 (24.5) cm. Shown in size Large.

MATERIALS
Yarn:
1 skein of Merino DK by Suburban Stitcher (100% Merino; 250 yds 228 m / 115 g), or approximately 180 (200) yards 164 (182) m of DK weight yarn.
1 skein of Silk Cloud by Shibui (60% Mohair/40% Silk; 330 yds 302 m / 25g), or approximately 300 (330) yards 274 (302) m of laceweight mohair yarn.
Note: For size large (Women’s US 10 feet), I used up all of the mohair. If you’re making these socks for longer feet, it’s recommended to use a slightly bigger skein of mohair.
The pattern requires using 1 strand of Merino DK yarn and 2 strands of Mohair/Silk held together throughout.
Since these socks are knitted from the toe up, you can weigh your yarn before starting. Knit one sock until you’ve used approximately 50% of the yarn, then bind off and start the other sock. This approach ensures you have enough yarn for both socks.
Needles: US 7 4.5 mm circular needles, about 32” 80 cm long, for magic loop.
Other: Locking stitch marker, regular stitch markers, tapestry needle. Extra needle in a similar size to work a tubular bind off.

GAUGE
20 sts and 28 rounds to 4” 10 cm in Stockinette St on US 7 4.5 mm needles.
