Pattern Description from Interweave Knits, Summer 2009: “Hana Jason says of the Oneshot Lace Hat: ‘I was inspired by the idea of lace moving around a curve. Spiraling short-row wedges in a simple garter lace create a pinwheel effect that shows off a slightly glitzy yarn in an unconventional, subtle way.’”

Finished Size: 18” circumference at brim, to fit a woman’s medium. Hat is very stretchy.

Yarn: Gedifra Amara (80% cotton, 20% polyamide; 110 yd 100 m/50 g): #3719 khaki, 1 ball. Yarn distributed by Westminster Fibers.

Needles: Sizes 8 (5 mm) and 4 (3.75 mm): 16” circulars (cir). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Notions: Tapestry needle.

Gauge: 20 sts = 4” and 14 rows = 2” in pattern st; each wedge measures 7” long and 2” wide at widest point (brim).

Note: You can make a larger, deeper hat by working a additional short-row wedge. Each wedge added or removed changes the brim circumference by 2”.
