Ono is a looped loop! It’s knit in the round, with the ends grafted together with Kitchener stitch in order to make an incredibly cosy infinity scarf.

The stunning 3D stitch pattern is achieved by working cording stitches for pleats on every 12th round, which is, along with a second round, worked on smaller needles with a lace weight thread (ITO Washi) to separate the bonbon-shaped elements of the loop. In between these two rounds, sections of stocking stitch worked with ITO Rakuda allow the knitter to relax.

The cording stitch technique is unusual, but it’s not too complicated. A convenient photo tutorial will guide you through it.

Ono ist ein Schlauch-Loop, der in Runden gestrickt wird. Anschließend verbindet der Maschenstich die beiden Enden des Schlauches zum Loop.

Die dreidimensionale Textur besteht aus eingestrickten Falten: Alle zwölf Runden werden Falzmaschen gearbeitet. Diese Falzmaschenrunde sowie eine weitere Runde werden mit dünneren Nadeln und einem Lacegarn (ITO Washi) gestrickt und trennen die bonbonförmigen Elemente des Loops voneinander. Zwischen diesen beiden Runden geht es mit ITO Rakuda in Sockengarnstärke glatt rechts weiter, was für Entspannung beim Stricken sorgt.

Die Falzmasche ist ein wenig ungewöhnlich, aber nicht sehr kompliziert. Ein Fototutorial erklärt genau, wie sie gestrickt wird.
