Open Doors Shawl
The Open doors shawl is inspired by John Creed’s stunning metal security gates which are located at The Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, Glasgow.
Beginning with a triangle shape, the shawl extends outwards into two rectangles. The overall shape is similar to a large triangle with the centre cut out.
The stitch patterns extend from the triangle into both rectangles. The same stitch patterns are worked throughout the shawl sections, creating a series of straight and diagonal lines that appear to change direction.
