Indigodragonfly Sweater Club 3 - pattern 1

Opposites Attached is an asymmetrical a-line vest constructed as 2 sides that attach both in front and in back. Side 1/Right Body has shaping welts that angle the hem. Side 2/Left Body is reversible, worked in a lace pattern that is beautiful on both sides. Hook and eye closures allow you to reverse the lace side or make multiple versions of Side 1 and Side 2 and mix and match them.

Yarn
Indigodragonfly Chameleon Sock 63% extrafine superwash merino/20% cashmere/17% silk; 363 m/400 yds per 100 g;
4 (4, 5, 5, 6, 6) skeins.

Gauge

Right Body - 31 sts and 40 rows per 10 cm/4” in stockinette stitch, after blocking
Left Body - 35 sts and 41 rows per 10 cm/4” in lace pattern, after blocking

Both gauge measurements are required for this pattern. Use needle size(s) required for you to get the above gauges. As a guideline, needles in the range of 2.75 mm/US 2 to 3.5 mm/US 4 would be a good place to start. I am a loose knitter and used 2.75 mm/US 2 needles to get both gauges.

Needles & Notions
* Needles of your choice, in size needed
to get gauge. See gauge notes for
guidelines for choosing a needle
size. 80 cm/32” minimum circular
needle is recommended for working the
edging.
* your preferred needle for
working a small circumference in the
round: DPNs, magic loop or two short
circulars, for working armhole trim
* stitch markers: both removable and
stationary stitch holders or scrap
yarn (optional: for holding stitches)

  • tapestry/yarn needle
  • hook and eye closures, size 1 - 1 (1, 1, 2, 2, 2) packages (standard packages have 20 sets in them)
  • thread that matches your yarn
  • optional: scrap yarn (in a contrasting colour, for lifeline)
