The garment is worked top down, starting at the neck. The back is worked from the shoulders down to the armholes, and then the fronts to the armholes. The back and front are joined and the rest of the garment is worked as one piece. The top part of the vest has a shaped waist and hips and then flares out at the hips for a short skirt. This skirt is worked in a second color. Buttons are added from neckline to the top of the skirt.
