“Orme Sulla Sabbia (Footprints In The Sand)” is a sleeveless vest knit bottom up. The two front sections are designed to be worn open or overlapped and pinned with a decorative brooch.
The body is worked in a single piece and is divided at the underarms.
The shoulders are joined using a 3-needle bind off and the vest is embellished by the moss stitch fronts and borders.

Back: 40 (42, 45, 48, 50, 52, 57, 60, 62, 65, 68, 70) cm – 16 (16 ½, 17 ¾, 19, 20, 20 ½, 22 ½, 24, 24 ½, 26, 26 ¾, 28) inches from the center of one underarm to the center of the other across the back.
Length: 29 (29, 29, 29, 35, 35, 35, 35, 41, 41, 41, 41) cm – 11 ½ (11 ½, 11 ½, 11 ½, 14, 14, 14, 14, 16 ¼, 16 ¼, 16 ¼, 16 ¼) inches from the underarm measured along the front; the cardigan will be a couple of cm longer on the hips and at the back.

Yarn and Needles:
ADRIAFIL WoLi (70% wool and 30% linen; 75 m - 82 yd for 50 g / 1.76 oz. skein): 7 (7, 8, 8, 9, 9, 10, 10, 10, 11, 11, 12) skeins (505, 520, 555, 583, 614, 625, 685, 720, 750, 779, 808, 829 m – 553, 569, 607, 638, 672, 684, 750, 788, 821, 852, 884, 907 yd).
Three circular needle size 5.5 mm – US 9 with wire 80 cm – 32” long (two are used only for the 3-needle bind off at the shoulder; if you have a more expert hand, you may only need one extra needle for the bind off).
Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Other:
Tapestry needle and scissors.
4 stitch markers.
Scrap yarn.

Gauge:
14.5 sts x 20 rows = 10 cm – 4” in st st (after blocking).

“Orme Sulla Sabbia” è un gilet senza maniche lavorato dal basso verso l’alto. Le due parti del davanti sono pensate per essere portate aperte o sovrapposte e chiuse da una spilla decorativa.
Il corpo è lavorato in un unico pezzo, poi si divide in corrispondenza degli scalfi.
Le spalle sono unite mediante la chiusura con i tre ferri e il capo è ravvivato dai bordi e dai due davanti lavorati a punto riso.

Tre ferri circolari numero 5.5 mm con cavo lungo 80 cm (due si usano solo per la chiusura delle spalle, se siete esperte potete anche farne a meno e utilizzare un unico ferro).
Se necessario modificare il numero degli aghi per ottenere il campione corretto.
