Oscar
Oscar is knitted in Aran weight yarn on 4mm needles.
The bear is knitted in flat shapes which are sewn together. Glass eyes are suggested (though the designer suggests that embroidered eyes would be safer for a new born or toddler). Plastic, moveable joints are suggested for Oscar.
Materials required for OSCAR Bear:
1 100g ball yarn of aran weight yarn
Oddments of contrast colour aran for ears, soles and nose.
1 25g ball DK for waistcoat - with small amt contrast to embroider around the edge of waistcoat =- and two press studs and 2 buttons to close.
pair 4mm needles
Toy stuffing
x4 sets 35mm plastic joints.
Black yarn or thread to embroider nose and mouth and claws.
1 pair size 12mm safety eyes.
“Oscar is basically the same bear as Jim, knitted in a thicker yarn. He has a slightly longer body, nose and arms and has contrast features.”
