CONSTRUCTION
The sweater is worked back and forth. First the back is worked from the bottom up. Rib sts are worked along the armhole openings. The rib sts are set aside to rest, while short rows are worked across the shoulder. The rib is then knitted together with the shoulder sts. Stitches are now picked up and knitted along the rib, the neck edge is shaped and the front is worked down from the shoulders. At the end, stitches are picked up and knitted along the armhole openings for the sleeves. Short rows are worked at the top of the sleeves, so the stitches do not pull, and the sleeves are worked back and forth to the cuffs.
The side and sleeve seams are sewn together.
