The vest is worked from the top down. The neck edge is worked in rib and the neckline is shaped using short rows. Increases are worked along the shoulder “seams” to give the width of the vest, all in a round. Then the knit is split in two to make room for armhole. Each part are knitted back and forth separately. The two parts are joined in around knitting to the rib edge. Finally, stitches are are picked up at the armholes to work a ribbed edge.
