Oude IJssel is an asymmetrical long narrow scarf with a mix of textures. This shape makes it possible for multiple wrap and tuck styles. It’s knit with two colors of fingering weight yarn in garter stitch and two different but related slip stitch patterns. Just one color is worked on each row with the yarn not being used carried up in the neat slip stitch edge.

Slip stitch patterns are charted only – pay close attention to the chart symbols as you are slipping stitches with the yarn in front and also with the yarn in back.
