Oui Vase
This lace cover is designed to fit the jar that Qui yogurt comes in. I love the yogurt and cannot bear to throw out the lovely glass jars.
Turn them into lovely gifts instead! With a delicate lace cover they make pretty little vases, tea candle holders or pen cups.
I used a set of double pointed needles, size 1.5 or 2, and a number 10 crochet cotton. My gauge came out to about 2.75 for the 32 rows of the side and 2.25 for the 16 sts of the side. The round
bottom is so easily changed that gauge is not important. If your gauge is close, you can count on the flexibility of knitting to make it fit. If you are way off, adjust by changing your needle size,
thread size, or even fudge the pattern a bit.
The cover starts with a medallion center for the bottom. If you are uncomfortable working in the round, there is no reason why you cannot work back and forth on two needles, (purling the
return rows), then seam it.
The sides are worked back and forth, joining to the bottom as you go.
