A rough and tumble boy may not appreciate intricate colorwork or cables, but he definitely wants something to keep him warm. This project does just that--its a basic sweater with a modern neckline to set it apart. It is created with extra ease to allow him the greatest freedom of motion for his outdoor adventures and to help it last a little longer. Because it’s worked top-down, you can easily remove the original hem and cuffs to take advantage of one of the grow-with-me tips. Shown in size 10.

Yarn: 375 (425, 475, 550, 600) yards bulky weight yarn, shown in Spud & Chloe Outer in “Sandbox”
Tools: Size 11 (8 mm) 24” circular needles and set of 5 DPNs, stitch markers, large safety pin, crochet hook for provisional cast on

Pattern Notes

• Sweater is worked to-down with seamless raglan-style sleeves.
• Collar is knit separately and then seamlessly attached.

Book Errata: p. 47, top of second column. Do not knit the final WS row after increases are completed. Replace line with:
“Work last 4 rows twice, work the first three rows once more and do not turn…”
