Over the River Mitts
These mitts knit quickly, with an easy to remember stitch pattern that stretches to fit many hand sizes.
Materials : 1 skein of your favorite worsted weight yarn (about 140 - 155 yards), shown in Shepherds Wool Worsted, MistyBlue
Gauge : 5 stitches and 7 rows = 1” in stockinette stitch
Finished measurement : About 9 inches long: cuff 3 1/2”, gusset 2 3/4”, top 2 3/4”
US 7 Needles 32” for magic loop or DPN’s
Stitch markers, waste yarn & blunt tapestry needle.
The mitts are also shown in Jade Sapphire Mongolian Cashmere 6-ply, color LIZard (with pomegranate) Also shown in SHELTER, color Sap (with the baby pumpkin). Both show a variation of 1x1 rib in place of the final 6 rounds.
