Over the River Socks
Over the River is a remembrance of my childhood, of my grandmother. Every holiday from school I spent time with her. We would do crafts: macrame and plastic canvas mainly. Though my Aunt tells me that she crocheted also. I loved my gram.
This pattern is mirrored- so the Christmas trees run along the outer sides of the foot of the sock. The back has a fudge swirl cable. My Grandma made fudge each Christmas. It wasn’t the best fudge but it was tradition- like the divinity that she made as well. I have a scar on my finger where she accidentally spilled some hot divinity on it while pouring it into the pan.
