This pattern starts with a pre-purchased t-shirt. Additional equipment is needed to perforate the edges of the t-shirt before crocheting. You will need either an awl from a hardware store or a sewing/tailor’s awl, and a self healing craft mat or other similar surface. I use cork tiles. You will also need a fabric marking pen, yarn needle, and tape measure.
