Oxidation was inspired by large chunky pieces of copper and the shapes that occur during the natural oxidation process. Sierra grew up with natural copper in her house, and she was easily able to translate the different shapes into stitches. This shawl has slip stitches, stripes, short rows, and bumps to make art imitate life. What gem will you make?

Oxidation is a crescent shaped shawl that highlights different stitch patterns and techniques for a truly unique piece. Each section is labeled in the pattern so it is easy to compare where you are in the shawl to which section in the photos.
