PACIFIC SWEATER
For a long time I have wanted to design a sweater with cables, cables, cables :slightly_smiling_face: A sweater with cable pattern on the neckline moving onto saddle shoulders, and with plenty of cables on the front and back. The result is the Pacific Sweater, named after one of the great oceans of the world.
The sweater is a speedy knit (knit on 8 mm needles for the most part), knit top-down starting with a neck-hugging polo neck with cable patterns on the sides. The pattern supplies three versions of neckline; turtle neck, crew neck and a short neck. Just pick your favourite.
The cable pattern continues over the saddle shoulders with increases on each side and cable pattern over the front and back and stockinette sts over the side sts. Later increases over the armpits will give a fitted shape. Both body and sleeves are finished with Italian bind off to give a stretchy feel.
The pattern has charts for each size which makes it easier to follow and avoid mistakes along the way.
I hope you’ll enjoy your Pacific Sweater as much as I have enjoyed designing it.
Happy knitting!

YARN
I have used the soft, squishy Malabrigo Merino Worsted and glittery Filcolana Paia for my two models. You can easily choose other yarn bases, e.g. Peruvian Highland Wool by Filcolana, as long as you have the same gauge in your knitting sample as in the pattern.
For the blue version I have used the following colourways:
Malabrigo Worsted - Blue Surf (192 m / 100 g)
Filcolana Paia - Ocean Shimmer (245 m / 25 g)
For the cognac coloured version I have used:
Malabrigo Worsted - Cognac (192 m / 100 g)
Filcolana Paia - Copper Shimmer (245 m / 25 g)
SIZES
The sweater is designed to be a relatively tight-fitting, short model with 2-4 cm positive ease. If you prefer a wider model, you might choose a larger size. Bear in mind that the saddle shoulders will also appear wider and the fit also. The length on sleeves and body can
be adjusted to your preferences as it’s knit top-down.
Chest circumference ranges from 87 to 113 cm depending on size.
