My motivation in designing this scarf was that I wanted a pattern that would retain the beauty that a space-dyed, or hand-painted skein of yarn has when we buy it. It is so disappointing that when knit the colors mix together resulting in a variegated piece, instead of the beautiful rainbow look of the original skein. This pattern will also work with self-patterning yarns, such as the Noro yarn used in the first scarf. I have also tried to include instructions so that the pattern can be adapted to any yarn.
