Paula is the sister sweater of Pauline which was originally designed to use up your Lopi yarn leftovers. The pattern gives you a method to design your very own colour feast. Inspired by the first “lopapeysa”, their Greenland influence and the fashion of the 70´s.

It is an Icelandic yoke sweater or cardigan with a relaxed straight fit, straight sleeves that are taken together at the cuffs and an optional hood. Traditionally worn with a lot of ease, I would recommend 15 – 20 cm ease for this sweater. The cardigan could be worn with less.
Method:
Body and sleeves are worked in the round from lower edge to the underarms, and then joined to work yoke in the round. Stranded knitting. German Short Rows shape the neckline.

Pála er systurpeysa Pálínu (= Pauline) sem var hönnuð sem afgangapeysa. Pála er eins konar grunnuppskrift sem gefur þér frjálsar hendur með að hanna þína lita- og munstursamsetningu. Innblásturinn er fenginn frá fyrstu lopapeysunni, grænlenskum þjóðbúningum og tísku frá 7. áratugnum.
Pálu má prjóna sem hefðbundna lopapeysu eða sem opna peysu. Sniðið á bolnum er ekki aðsniðið heldur beint. Ermarnar eru beinar og teknar saman fyrir ofan stroffið við úlnlið. Hettan er valmöguleiki.
Mælt er með plötulopa frá Þingborg: 100% íslensk lambsull í sauðalitum. Handlitaður plötulopi í Þingborg : Hörpugull (einfaldur) eða Slettuskjótt (tvöfaldur). Aðalliturinn getur líka verið einfaldur plötulopi og Þingborgar Einband saman Einnig er mælt með handlituðu einbandi frá Dórubandi. www.thingborg.is*
