Paris and Rome
Paris and Rome is an eye-catching top-down shawl, with a simple lattice pattern that gradually opens as it approaches the border. The careful placement of beads subtly enhances the lace motifs, adding sparkle and swing. The pattern is designed to consume almost an entire skein of Fino, but you can easily adapt the size to your taste. This shawl takes its name from a song by the British band Cranes.
You will need:
One skein of Manos del Uruguay Fino (70% wool, 30% silk, 450 m/490 yards/100 g) or 450 m of light fingering weight yarn (450-500 m/100 g).
3.75 mm (US 5), at least 80 cm (32”) long circular needles (or size to obtain the gauge).
Approximately 10 g 4 mm (6/0) or 3 mm (8/0) beads.
A crochet hook of a size that fits in the hole of the bead.
Locking stitch marker.
Tapestry needle.
