Parthenope
Parthenope was a ketch (two-masted ship) built on the river at Howdendyke in 1885. She was owned by John Holmes who lived on Neptune Street in Hull. The ship was named after one of the sirens of Greek myth. The gansey that this ship inspired has the hearts pattern commonly found on the rivers between Howden and Hull.
