This breezy tunic is perfect for springtime weather, and worked up in worsted weight wool, it’s nearly instant knitting gratification. Pattaconk features a sideways constructed yoke in squooshy garter stitch with short-row shaped cap sleeves and an A-line skirt with an off-center leaf lace inset.

This pattern is suitable for advanced beginners. It features several techniques, including knitting in the round, short row shaping, lace knitting, and picking up stitches.

This is a seamless garment, so the only finishing is blocking and weaving in ends. The pattern includes both charted and written instructions for the lace inset.

Designer Notes

The garter stitch yoke is best blocked gently. For the sample, the yoke was lightly shaped and allowed to dry unpinned. The body can be blocked more vigorously.
