This pair of gloves is in the tradition of the patterned gloves from cold places in the world, from Estonia and the Baltic, to Scandinavia, the UK and Canada. Knitted in pure wool double knitting weight from Shetland, with a simple peasant thumb, these gloves make a good introduction to patterned knitting. Knitted as specified the fabric is dense and warm. The pattern could be varied by using a lighter yarn, thicker needles, or different colours.
