PE Kelley Kilt Hose
Designed to be adjustable, with a simple pattern, these kilt hose should be a long lasting heirloom. They are worked from the toe up in order to give you flexibility in the sizing.
SIZE
Measure to fit. (Shown in a women’s US size 8 shoe, large calf)
FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Here is a list of measurements to take as well as a few equations to do before you start knitting which will give you the size and measurement of the hose.
Measurements:
A: ball of foot at it widest point
B: length of foot, from big toe to end of heel
C: around the widest part of the calf muscle
Equations:
(Measurement A) -.5 x 8=Sum A
# of stitches on heel needle -14= Sum B
(Measurement C) x 8 - 8= Sum C
It is important to periodically try on the sock as you go in order to see if it is fits.
MATERIALS
Cascade Heritage Sock Yarn 75% Merino Superwash & 25% Nylon; 437 yd/400
m per 100 g/3.5 oz skein; color: 5602; 2-3 skeins (I used 2 skeins for my hose)
1 set US #1/2.25 mm double-point needles
