Peace : Love : Home
Peace : Love : Home…three words that mean so much.
This pillow is knit with super bulky weight yarn and big needles so it knits up very quickly. Felt applique letters are stitched on after knitting.
Pattern includes easy to print and cut patterns for the “PEACE”, “LOVE” and “HOME” letter designs. (No resizing of patterns necessary!)
SKILL LEVEL: Easy
The pillows are knit flat and seamed on the sides.
You will need to know how to cast on stitches, knit and purl confidently, bind off stitches, weave in ends, sew up seams and do basic embroidery to stitch on the felt letters. If you do not have a lot of experience with sewing up knitting seams, there are detailed photo illustrated instructions in the pattern.
This really is a very easy pattern. As with any knitting project, careful finishing makes all the difference in the outcome of the finished project. I put a lot of effort into breaking down all the steps for finishing. The pattern includes detailed written instructions and lots of photos to walk you through every step of finishing.
MATERIALS NEEDED:
US Size 13 needles (or size to obtain gauge)
180 yards of Super Bulky weight yarn
12” x 16” pillow form
felt in desired color
DMC embroidery floss
Basic sewing and crafting supplies such as tapestry needle, embroidery needle and good quality scissors for cutting out felt letters.
YARN:
I used Loops & Threads Cozy Wool in the color ‘Granite’ (gray pillows) and ‘Claret’ (red pillow).
This pattern will work well with other super bulky weight yarns.
