We need a little more peace in our lives, a quiet moment of contemplation of the knitted stitch and the peace and contentment it can bring as we create our garments.

What comes to mind when you contemplate the names “Dirty Hippie”, “Alice” and Daisies! For me it was “Peace, Love and Understanding” and the era that came along with it! Freia Shawl Ball Dirty Hippie was the main yarn for the original shawl, with Zen Yarn Garden Splatter in Alice for the Daisy Chains. The Second version, now under construction is being knit with Wonderland Cheshire Cat in Dreadfully Frightened for the base and Lights Part 2 for the Daisy Chains. The second shawl is going to be just a bit bigger too!

What will you bring to “Peace, Love and Understanding”?

Materials: 430 (530) yds of main; the main could be all one colour or each piece of the background could be different – check out your stash combine some similar tones! 300 (650) yds of secondary (daisy) colours: collect lots of different yarn or one special one for the daisies; 3.75mm US #5, 32 inch circs; a small cable needle; markers and the regular notions.
