Say hello to Pearl the tooth fairy. She flies around all night long collecting the teeth children leave under their pillows and replacing them with bright shiny coins. She carries a large tooth with a hidden pocket to carry a tooth or a coin. She is a great holder for children to place their lost tooth into and would make a great gift for any child.

This is an original amigurumi crochet pattern designed by me (Smiley Crochet Things) to make a tooth fairy doll. The pattern includes detailed step by step instructions and pictures.

Size (using suggested materials): 20cm (8 inches) tall and 9cm (3.5 inches) wide each.

Intermediate/advanced pattern - some crochet knowledge is necessary (chain stitch, single crochet, slip stitch, double crochet and half double crochet are used within this pattern), more complicated stitches used within this pattern are described in detail. This pattern uses the amigurumi method of working in spirals.

The body of this pattern is worked as one piece from the toes to the shoulders, so no need for too much tedious hand sewing! The fairy has wings and is wearing a dress with some lacework on the skirt, removable shoes and star hair accessories. The fairy is holding a tooth with a small pocket at the back to hold a tooth or a coin.

Materials:

  • dk/light worsted (8ply) yarn in the required colours (yarns used for picture were Paintbox yarns cotton DK, 100% cotton yarn)
  • 2.75mm crochet hook
  • 6mm black safety eyes
  • Polyester toy stuffing

Any yarn can be used with an appropriate sized hook, although other weights of yarn will affect the size of the finished item. No required tension, as long as it is worked fairly tightly.

Please always check materials and current safety standards before giving to a small child.
