Pattern Details

Our latest design uses a new stitch pattern: Staggered Pebbles Stitch, grown right here in the Crochet Garden. It is similar to the look of a popcorn stitch, but executed in a different way that does not entail dropping a loop from the hook. Using Staggered Pebbles, the stitching is continuous and worked on the WS, with the staggered pops of texture developed on the opposite side.

The Staggered Pebbles Stitch is a great quick stitch that can be used on anything that works in the round. It also looks amazing in any multi or variegated yarns. In this pattern, the gauge swatch introduces you to this stitch pattern- getting you familiar and ready to work up your pattern. Each showcase part of the pattern in a solid color (white), then in a variegated color.

This hat and cowl set both work in the round, making wonderful use of the new Staggered Pebbles Stitch. Sizes range from 2T through adult- everyone can have matching hat and cowls! The hat works from the crown down, allowing for customization of length. Turn it into a beanie or a slouchy hat if you like! The cowl works from the top down, and gradually increases in circumference with the top of the cowl smaller and the bottom larger. This not only creates an aesthetically sharp looking accessory, but also allows more coverage as it cascades down to the shoulders.
