Pecan Pi Shawl is a circular shawl knit using the Pi Shawl template by Elizabeth Zimmerman. The lace sections remind me of some of the hallmarks of Southern hospitality, so I named it after one of my favorite desserts: pecan pie. There are hearts at the center since the secret ingredient in good cooking is love, followed by arrows (pointing to the kitchen of course), and then fans since everyone knows the summers are warm in the South. The lace patterns are a combination of my own designs and adaptations of stitches found in 50 Fabulous Knitted Lace Stitches and 50 Fabulous Knit Stitches by Rita Weiss. Both charted and written instructions are included. I hope you will find this shawl to be a delightful addition to your wardrobe. Happy Knitting!

MATERIALS & INFO
Yarn: Sample shown using Savannah Sock by Copper Corgi (3 skeins/1380 yds) in “Sweet Tea” colorway. Cascade 220 Fingering Yarn (6 skeins/1375 yds) in “Ember Heather” colorway would also work. Or you can use your favorite fingering weight yarn in a “nutty” colorway – solid or semi-solid would be best to allow the lace to shine. The sample shown took just over 1300 yds to complete.

Gauge: 7 st x 11 rows = 1”x 1”, gauge is not critical, but will affect size and yarn requirements

Needles: US 3 /2.5 mm dpns and 32” or 40” circular needle (due to number of stitches and if you want to use magic loop method of circular knitting)

Notions: Tapestry Needle (for weaving in ends), stitch markers, size F/3.75 mm crochet hook for provisional cast on

Finished size: 46” diameter
