Peek Pocket
I’m a big fan of sweaters that resemble sweatshirts, combining a casual design with the classiness of knitwear.
This sweater is knit top down, raglan style. The front and back are knit separately, back and forth, until the underarm, where they are joined together and knit in the round. Each sleeve is knit separately, top down, back and forth until the underarm, and then in the round to the cuff. The pocket is worked into the body of the sweater, intarsia-style, and using a technique similar to double knitting to make pocket flap blend right into the bottom of the sweater. The cowl neck is picked up and knit from the neckline up at the end.
Yarn requirements, in fingering weight: body: 550 (615, 685, 775, 875, 1000); sleeves: 585 (650, 715, 810, 920, 1050) yards; pocket: 44 (46, 48, 50, 52, 55) yds.
Check out my other hidden pocket designs, in worsted and super bulky.
