I visited Shetland for the first time last September and I was overwhelmed not only by the beauty of the place but also by the kindness and friendliness of Shetland people! During my stay I visited the textile museum too, where I met Hazel Tindall who was very kind and generous. We had a lovely chat and she invited me for the next day for the monthly meeting of the Shetland Guild of Spinners, Knitters, Weavers and Dyers where I met other nice people of Shetland community.
During that meeting I learnt about the Peerie Makkers project and an idea crossed my mind. Now finally I found some time to give shape to that idea, and I designed a pattern of Peerie Xmas Baubles in two sizes: the diameter of which is 3cm / 1.25in for the smaller and 5cm / 2in for the other one. In the pattern are included few chart samples and an empty one for who would like to make their own Xmas motif. If you make a strong loop you can also hang your Peerie Bauble on your key-ring and enjoy it all year-round!
All the proceeds from the sale of this pattern will go to the Shetland Peerie Makkers Nonprofit Organisation.
