Peninsular
Escape into maritime flight of fancy with this elegant cabled garment. This pattern started out as a vest, but has now been expended with instructions for adding sleeves - enabling you to knit a Peninsular Vest, or a Peninsular Pullover, as preferred.
The wave and pearl motif evokes the undulating shoreline of Donegal’s Inishowen Peninsula, with a nod to local oyster harvesting traditions.
The simplicity of the cables makes this pattern accessible to a wide range of skill levels. In addition, great care has been taken so that all shaping takes place in the non-cabled sections of the fabric (there is no ‘decreasing in pattern’ to keep track of).
Details such as overlapping edgings and rope-like borders add a special touch to this wistfully nautical design.
