The inspiration for this mitten came from a bunch of small yellow flowers that I saw growing along the railroad tracks at Pennington Station along Lake Bennett in Yukon Territory. I liked the way that their extra long stems snaked around each other as they made their way up to the blossom. This mitten is the fibery translation of those little yellow flowers. The perfect transitional mitten worked up in a sockweight, Pennington Mittens are worked from the top down to the cuff and show off intertwining cables that blossom into flowers.

Available in two sizes, this pattern provides charts and some written instructions, however the charts are not written out line by line. Some techniques used in this design are Judy’s Magic Cast-On, Magic Loop (dpns can be subsituted if you prefer), bobbles, and cables.
