ABOUT THE PATTERN AND DESIGN
Worked sideways and entirely flat, the Penny Shirt is a striped Tunisian crochet polo worked with fingering weight yarn. This project is ideal for using up any leftover amount of fingering weight yarn to create a multicolored striped shirt. The pointed collar, oversized fit, and button closures make this masculine garment perfect for layering a tee underneath. The shirt is worked as 5 different panels that are then seamed together, and the collar is worked directly onto the seamed panels.

SKILLS USED
This pattern is not recommended for beginners. You should know how to Tunisian crochet, read a crochet pattern, count stitches and rows, change colors, increase, work along the edge of a row, decrease, seam panels together, and sew on buttons. All other techniques are explained in the pattern.

SIZING
This pattern comes with instructions for 9 sizes: XS (S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL, 5XL) from bust circumferences of 28-62 in 71-158 cm. The shirt is intended to be worn with 6-8 in 15-20.5 cm of positive ease, but the size guide and measurements for the shirt itself can be found within the pattern.

MATERIALS
Yarn: Scheepjes Cotton 8
185 yds 170 m / 1.8 oz 50 g
(other suggested yarns include Rowan Summerlite 4 Ply, Paintbox Yarns Cotton 4 Ply, or DROPS Loves You 7, but most fingering weight cottons should work)
Hook: H/5 mm Tunisian crochet hook with a 20 in 50 cm cable or any other hook needed to obtain the gauge and a G/4 mm regular crochet
hook for the border
Other: Stitch markers, darning needle, scissors, tape measure, 6-19 mm buttons
